Chris Evans, 52, and his wife Natasha Shishmanian, 38, have welcomed twins.
The radio veteran announced via a statement read live on air that his wife gave birth overnight. The star revealed the birth of the twins live on his radio show on Thursday as he called in to guest host, Sara Cox. He also referred to the twins as “Ping and Pong”.
The statement reads in part:
Ping and Pong arrived safe and well last night. Ping popped her head at 22.10, Pong popped his head out 12 minutes later.
Both healthy, both strong, happy and blessed, as was mum throughout.
Fans were left baffled about their rather unique choice of names and hope the new parents are joking. Twitter users quickly took to the platform after the announcement to comment on the choice of names.
One Twitter user wrote:
Sorry, as if Chris Evans has just named his twins Ping and Pong?!…
The couple already have two sons named Eli and Noah and the DJ has a daughter Jade, 32, with his former fiancée Alison Ward.
