Neymar earns £900k-a-week at Paris Saint-Germain as the 26-year-old Brazilian’s salary was published by the French site Mediapart.
The Ligue 1 side – who smashed the transfer record by paying £198million for Neymar last summer – also paid money to each of his agents, his father and his first club Santos as part of the deal.
Neymar’s staggering earnings have been revealed days after it emerged the star has a “behaviour clause” in his contract that includes applauding PSG supporters at full-time.
Les Parisiens stated that Neymar must also be punctual, respect journalists and reporters and not bet on competitions in which the club are participating in.
Mediapart disclosed that the French champions had to pay a total sum of €252 million to sign the player from Barcelona with the deal being worth €54.7million a year, or €30 million after tax.
PSG paid an initial €222 million to Barcelona, before departing with €10.5million each to his agents, his father Neymar Sr and Pini Zahavi, plus €8.7million to his first club Santos.
But, 15% of Neymar’s salary is termed an “ethics premium” as is the case with all PSG players, which allows the Ligue 1 side to fine stars for misconduct.
Neymar, who has 12 goals and six assists in all competitions this season, asked that “compliance with tax rules” be removed, but PSG refused.
He did not respond to Mediapart’s request for comment.
