Leader and Founder of the Glorious Word Ministry Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah is calling on the Police Service to drop all the charges that have been levelled against the youths who attacked and vandalized his church last week.
The youth, numbering about a dozen and believed to be from the Moslem community in Ghana, were ostensibly angered by a prophecy by the pastor that the Chief Imam will die this year.
On New Year’s Eve, Rev. Owusu Bempah told his congregation that if Ghanaians don’t pray, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu as well as some prominent politicians will pass away this year.
The prophecy attracted a huge backlash especially from the Muslim community with some youth attacking his church at Odorkor in Accra, the country’s capital.
However, in a show of remorse, Prophet Owusu Bempah called on the Chief Imam at his office with a huge cow to offer his apology about the prophecy and ask for the peaceful co-existence of the Christian and Muslim communities in Ghana.
